SEEKING BUSINESS PARTNERS FOR A JOINT VENTURE
ZTECH Group of Companies LTD is a registered Zambian Company and is currently seeking investors to invest in a number of projects in Zambia.
TENTATIVE INVESTMENT PROPOSALS
1. ROADSIDE BBQ & RESTUARANT
The idea is to open up a restaurant on private property which cuts off the cost of rentals. The idea is that a chalet, with a thatched roofing to sit at least 40 people.
The restaurant will specialize is all kinds of foods. Ranging from BBQ to ordinary foods thus to offer a wide variety to the clients that will offer simple fast foods/finger foods, from morning to evening, like the stands around in China and of course full course meals. The establishment will incorporate Korean BBQ style as well.
It is also important to create a child friendly environment to pull in more clients. The place will also offer outside sitting, as the surrounding area will be designed in such a way that the landscaping suits the chalet.
2. LUXURY RESORT
The plan is to build a resort that will attract and cater for Asian business men/women and Asian students to go to Zambia for an all inclusive package. The resort will accommodate 20 people at once because the resort will be built in chalet styles. It will be adjacent to the restaurant and have 10 self contained chalets with ensuit showers and toilets. Next to the chalets will also be a Spa which will have a Jacuzzi and Sauna room. Another chalet will serve as a resort lobby and entertainment area.
This luxury resort has the potential especially with the growing Chinese investment in Zambia, an opportunity has presented itself in that with China opening up its first Africa special economic zone in Zambia, and there will be a huge influx of Chinese and Asian businessmen flocking to the area.
3. MANUFACTURING OF CLOTHES
Manufacturing of Clothes under an already chosen label. This industry in Zambia does not exist and all clothes are imported from South Africa, Europe, Asia and the United States thus the cost is expensive and in most cases of poor quality. But investment in such a sector will guarantee 70% of the market share. The market for Men’s suits is high, if suits were produced in Zambia and of good quality; the business could be split in two; one half producing for export to other African countries and the other half to produce for distributors. As for women’s clothes, the same applies; designs could be tailored and supplied to major outlets or self-owned outlets for sale. The plan is to manufacture children and adult casual wear and business wear at wholesale and retail from the company’s showroom. The idea is to build a factory and a show room on private property whilst aiming to be the pioneer in local manufactured goods and to export to SADEC/COMESA countries and also take advantage of AGOA.
4. PROPOSED HOUSING DEVELOPMENT PROJECT
Currently ZTECH is seeking to venture into construction of housing development projects with BEKEROAN ENTERPRISES and a Chinese Investor. BEKEROAN ENTERPRISES a registered sole proprietor company is undertaking activities in construction, maintenance, general trading and transport. The company is owned by a retired Zambia Air force officer with a small number of personnel under him. The company abides to all state tax obligations, registration, and tender registration. However, the Company is looking to buy land to cater for the Company base when it goes into a joint venture partnership on shares to be agreed upon.
Plant machinery such as Dump trucks, Front and Loader, Bulldozers, Diggers, Cranes, and Self Loaders can enhance the viability of the Company as hiring machinery is extremely costly.
5. ZTECH EFE
ZTECH seeks investment in manufacturing of coal for use in homes and mines, currently coal in Zambia is produced through environmental degradation, whereby people cut down trees and use the old system. As part of the company philosophy, ZTECH believes in Sustainable economic development by providing environmentally friendly, affordable and durable products for all while at the same time making a positive impact on society and producing a win-win outcome for all players involved.
6. PIG REARING
Unlike China were pork is the cheapest form of meat, in Zambia pork is extremely expensive. This is due to the fact that people lack the knowledge of rearing the animals. In addition demand for the meat is low due to the cost. If the same methods used in China are applied in Zambia, there is a great deal of money to be made. But there is need for equipment and the skilled personnel to oversee rearing and slaughtering. Entering this market will guarantee at least 60% market share and as the business picks up, market share will increase and eventually bring down the price of pork. With easy access to transportation there is room to deliver all across the country.
For all these agricultural investments, the government of Zambia offers tax-free policies for all equipment and any other material.
7. MANUFACTURING OF SANITARY TOWELS AND DIAPERS
Again like other industries in Zambia this sector has potential. Right now the only competitor is Johnson and Johnson (Zambia LTD). They make one kind of sanitary towel and tampons, other brands are imported from South Africa. However, manufacturing a different brand of better quality and at cheap price would bring variety to the consumer and guarantee at least 50% market share for Sanitary Towels and at least 80% market share for diapers as this industry is non-existent. Production of this product can make diapers affordable to the average consumer and these can be sold to distributors.
8. Farmer’s Market
This could be set up in form of a supermarket selling self-grown fresh vegetables, fruits, pork etc. The advantage is production cost will be low in that all produce will be grown on private property which will cut out suppliers and produce is sold directly to the consumers. An example of what this market would be like is the community markets available in China and found close to every apartment complex.
The Bigger Picture
Zambia is abundant in cheap raw materials and unskilled labor is plenty and cheap. The country lacks the industries that can take advantage of the market and indeed technology transfer. Entering the above mentioned industries is not only a god investment but will guarantee the investor will become a pioneer and a leader in its field.
